VIDEO RELEASE: 2 Alarm In The City of #Victorville

Shortly after 8 PM #SBCoFD crews from Division 3 were dispatched to a reported Commercial Structure fire in the 15600 block of Village Lane in Victorville. Crews from Station 311 arrived within 5 minutes to find a single story commercial building with heavy smoke and fire showing. A 2nd Alarm was quickly struck to bring additional manpower and apparatus to the scene. Crews mounted an aggressive coordinated attack, utilizing both vertical ventilation and hoselines inside to reach the seat of the fire. With interior crews encountering heavy smoke and fire conditions the decision was made to go from an “offensive” to a “defensive” strategy, utilizing large master streams from the exterior of the commercial building. Crews safely exited the buildings and placed (2) elevated master streams in service to pump large volumes of water on the well involved fire. Crews kept the fire damage to the building of origin and protected nearby commercial occupancies.
The fire was knocked down in approximately 45 minutes. At the height of the incident seven (7) Engines, three (3) Truck Companies, (1) Medic Squad, (4) Chief Officers, (1) Fire Investigator and (1) Heavy Rescue responded to the 2-Alarm Fire. San Bernardino County Fire utilized “cover engines” from other areas to ensure there was uninterrupted service to the City of #Victorville. When large incidents take place, #SBCoFD utilizes a regional approach which allows many engines to be placed on the fire and for coverage assignments.
No injuries were reported to both civilians and firefighters. The single story building, vacant at the time sustained heavy smoke and fire damage. A fire investigator was on-scene to determine cause and origin.

Stockton Commercial Fire Video

On June 18th, 2017, Stockton Firefighters responded to back to back working commercial structure fires. These fires occurred during a week long, triple digit heat wave. Stockton Firefighters worked quickly to contain the first blaze with minimal damages to a charitable organization. The second fire was out of control upon arrival, and a complete loss after extinguishment.

Fire Crews committed to an exterior hose stream while gaining entry to the building. The structure is known by firefighters to have an unusual floor plan and potential for heavy fire load. The Gospel Mission was currently closed, making forcible entry a consideration on delaying interior fire attack. An associate on scene opened a rear roll-up door, which Firefighters gained access and made the remaining fire attack. Truck Firefighters performed vertical ventilation, while the fire was being extinguished. Firefighters remained on scene to perform salvage and overhaul. The quick knock-down of the fire and aggressive tactics saved much of this charitable organization’s donations, administrative filings, cold storage, and more.

Firefighters were still on scene (working in hundred degree heat) when a second, working commercial structure fire occurred several blocks away. Many fire crews cleared to head to the second structure fire.

The second fire can be viewed here:
